Mary Anne Pennermaryanne-penner

Mary Anne has lived in the Cold Lake area for 27 years. She has been a Lakeland Catholic trustee for 21 years. Mary Anne is the Director of the Public Library. She has been married for 37 years and has 5 adult children and 2 grandsons. Mary Anne is also very active in her church parish: She is the coordinator of sacraments and is on the diocesan and liturgical committee. Mary Anne loves Catholic education. She loves the welcoming environment of our schools that greets you when you enter. She says it seems to wrap itself around you and hold you like you’re held in a nice warm hug!

Kelly Hendersonkelly henderson

Kelly has lived in Cold Lake since 1988. She has returned for her second term as a Lakeland Catholic trustee. Kelly is the assistant manager of the Lakeland Inn Hotel, and has also worked as a student aide and youth minister for our District. Kelly is married to Larry Henderson and has four children: Stephanie, John-Michael, Tyler, and Christopher. She loves that Catholic values and beliefs can be taught in our schools. Faith is permeated in all subject areas and we are all able to pray together as a school community and a parish community. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys doing crafts, cooking, golfing, snowblading, curling and camping.

Vicky Lefebvrevicky lefebvre

Vicky has returned for her third term as a Lakeland Catholic School Board trustee. She has lived in Cold Lake for over 20 years. Vicky is a retired bank manager, who has over 33 years experience in the field. Vicky has been married for 36 years and has 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. Vicky loves Catholic education because she feels the children who get the opportunity to attend our schools get a chance to meet and build a relationship with Jesus who will be with them for life when no one else will. In her spare time, Vicky participates in Parish council, helps out at the crisis centre, and is a new city councillor, among many other activities!

BONNYVILLE TRUSTEES

Carla Sobolewskicarla sobolewski

Carla is a new trustee to the Lakeland Catholic School District. She has lived in Bonnyville for the past 11 years. Carla has three children; Samantha, Robyn and Kurtis. Carla believes Catholic education helps further develop a child’s faith. Her own children grew up in the faith and had their faith all through school, which has helped them become the success they are. Carla is a member of the CWL, the Bonnyville Society of Singers and enjoys singing in the Bonnyville Country Opry. She is also an active Legion member.

Gerald Corbieregerald corbiere

Gerald Corbiere is another new trustee to the Lakeland Catholic School District. He has lived in the Bonnyville area for the past 20 years. Gerald owns his own web design company called Bonnyville Post. He and his wife have been married for 20 years and have 4 children. Gerald believes Catholic Education provides children with moral grounding and also provides children with a positive environment for faith formation. On top of his company, Gerald is a Director of the Bonnyville Chamber of Commerce. In his spare time, he likes to help out with soccer and volleyball and also enjoys waterskiing.

Margaret Bordersmargaret borders

Margaret Borders is new to the Lakeland Catholic Board of Trustee, but she is not new to Lakeland Catholic. Margaret spent the past 13 years teaching at Dr. Brosseau School and has taught at various schools in the area and in our District for the past 41 years that she has lived in Bonnyville. Margaret has 5 children - 2 live in California, one lives in Idaho, one in Edmonton and one close to home in Bonnyville. For Margaret, our schools have a special atmosphere to them, which exists because of the Catholic permeation they allow. Margaret enjoys playing bridge, golfing and taking exercise classes at the C2 Center.

WASKATENAU TRUSTEE

Colette Zaharcolette zahar

Colette Zahar is a new trustee to Lakeland Catholic. She has lived in Vilna since 1991. She currently is a homemaker, but previously served on Vilna Village Council and worked for TD Canada Trust. Colette has been married to Ben for 14 years and they have 2 children who both attend Holy Family Catholic School in Waskatenau. She loves the family atmosphere at Holy Family - everyone belongs to one big happy family! She believes Catholic education teaches children the right morals and values they need to succeed. In her spare time, Colette loves to read, bake and cook. She also spends a lot of time volunteering at the school with her children.
